In true Virgin spirit, we think raising money can be great fun and we also think there's nothing like supportive partners. In the last three years we've raised more than £300,000 for our charity partners, who include Chestnut Tree Children's Hospice, Water for All and Kids Company.
Our staff project this year working with 'Free the Children' and we’re aiming to 'fun' raise £150,000 to provide a village of 2,500 people in rural India with education, water and sanitation healthcare and establish alternative incomes for villagers. This will enable the village to become self-sufficient and to help the villagers pull themselves out of the life of poverty and to help eliminate the spread of child labour (350 out of 400 children in this village work to support their families).
Some of our more adventurous staff have wholeheartedly taken onboard the 'fun' approach to fundraising and recent activities have included climbing Mount Fuji and running the London Marathon! We have a great prize for the staff who really go the extra mile to help us raise funds - the opportunity to work with the community in India and help plant their crops and build the school.
